The Spectacular Elegance of the Universe, the best of Hubble in FULL HD 1080p NASA

http://www.theamnisinitiative.com/distantdreams.htm This video follows "The Majestic Beauty of the Cosmos": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khySM1YBQvA One video alone could simply not do justice to the unbelievable beauty of the universe, as the Hubble Space Telescope unveils to us. Some of the latest images released by NASA and its partners were incorporated into this video, along with some of the most incredible material taken since 1990. The Hubble telescope is planned to continue functioning at least until 2014, so the future should bring more unbelievable sights of faraway places. And scientific data, obviously! This movie, just like the first one, is dedicated to the great Carl Sagan. All images courtesy of NASA, ESA, and The Hubble Heritage Team (STScI/AURA) The music is "Isle of the Wandering Spirits" from the album "Distant Dreams" by The Amnis Initiative. See the link above.

Exchanges at the Frontier: Lawrence Krauss (HD)

Professor Krauss is Director of the Origins Initiative at Arizona State University, an internationally renowned theoretical physicist and author of bestselling books including 'The Physics of Star Trek'. In this video Lawrence Krauss introduces his work and discusses his most exciting current projects. This video is part of the Exchanges at the Frontier series, recorded last autumn when Wellcome Collection joined forces with the BBC World Service to host some of the biggest names in world science. AC Grayling, Professor of Philosophy at Birkbeck College, University of London, discussed the social impacts of their discoveries and the frontiers of scientific knowledge. You can listen to the Exchanges at the Frontier broadcasts on the BBC's World Service website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/programmes/2009/12/091201_exchanges_frontier_list.shtml

Lawrence Krauss: 2011 "Cosmic Connections"

http://socraticmama.com/ [Inspiration & Support for Secular Families] Conway Hall, London Sunday 16th Oct. 2011 "Every atom in your body came from a star that exploded. And, the atoms in your left hand probably came from a different star than your right hand. It really is the most poetic thing I know about physics: You are all stardust" Lawrence Krauss Professor of Earth and Space Exploration, Lawrence Krauss, isn't immune to small irritations of daily living. However, he can see the bigger picture. In this 'secular sermon' he shows how each of us is connected to the cosmos in ways we'd never imagine. From the stardust we're made of, to the atoms we breathe, to the curving of space time that governs the way we make our way through traffic jams, to time travel itself. Dr Lawrence Krauss is a prolific and popular writer and an indefatigable fighter for science and critical thinking. At Arizona State University, he is Foundation Professor in the School of Earth and Space Exploration and Physics Departments, Associate Director of the Beyond Center, and Co-Director of the Cosmology Initiative. He is also Director of the exciting new Origins Initiative, which explores questions ranging from the origin of the Universe to the origins of human culture and cognition. He has studied and explained matters from the microscopic to astronomical. In performing with the Cleveland Orchestra, judging at the Sundance Film Festival, and his Grammy nominated notes for Telarc Records, Krauss has also bridged the chasm between science and popular culture. http://www.theschooloflife.com/ http://vimeo.com/theschooloflife
