With the continuing campaigns for Internet-censoring litigation such as SOPA and PIPA, and the closure of sites such as Megaupload under allegations of 'piracy' and 'conspiracy' the time has come to take a stand against music, film and media companies' lobbyists. The only way is to hit them where it truly hurts. Their profit margins. March 2012 is the end of the 1st quarter in economic reports worldwide. Do not buy a single record. Do not download a single song, legally or illegally. Do not go to see a single film in cinemas, or download a copy, Do not buy a DVD in the stores. Do not buy a videogame. Do not buy a single book or magazine. Wait the 4 weeks to buy them in April: see the film later, etc. Holding out for just 4 weeks, maximum, will leave a gaping hole in media and entertainment companies' profits for the 1st quarter, an economic hit which will in turn be observed by governments worldwide as stocks and shares will blip from a large enough loss of incomes. This action can give a statement of intent: "We will not tolerate the Media Industries' lobbying for legistation which will censor the internet." Regarding Black March: If you want to do something that makes a statement, consider shifting your money not only away from corporate media but to independent media. Buy comics published by someone other than DC and Marvel. Buy books from small and independent presses. Support independent production companies who fight to stay independent and fan-focused. Better yet, buy things directly from creators and artisans. Support independent retailers. Don't just blanket punish media producers and distributors—refocus those resources into supporting the ones who espouse and depend on free exchange of information and ideas. Because those are the people preserving intellectual freedom. Those are the people creating work of substance. And those are the people struggling to make a living, because they aren't bankrolled by the Corporate Elite lobbying for SOPA and PIPA. Operation Black March, engaged. We are Anonymous. Greece's government will fall...and so will the European Union. We will stand by the people of Greece. We are currently attacking all digital police infrastructures. We are Anonymous. We are Legion. We have been following the events currently taking place in Athens, and we have mixed reactions. We are saddened by the destruction and the ruin this campaign has cost Athens and the people living within it. Yet we can sympathize with them. The government has avoided the people's requests countless times. It has refused to listen to its people, and this is why we stand by the people of Greece. We have felt their pain and suffering. We cannot stand by and watch while the people are oppressed because of Austerity measures that won't benefit them in the long run. This is why we stand against the Greek government. We have warned them multiple times to stop their actions against their people. We have warned them to stop supporting these cuts that will indefinitly hurt the middle and lower class. They did not comply. The actions currently taking place are the result of them not complying with our demands. We did not organize these riots in any way. All we did was spread the word of your government's failure to meet the people's terms. Anonymous is continuing their attacks against the Greek government, and will not stop until the people get what they want. If this does not happen Greece's government will fall. This is also a warning to all the other European Union counterparts. Italy, Spain, Portugal, Britain, Poland, and all the others will suffer the same fate as Greece's. You have all been warned. Do not think that just because you are not a United States citizen, that this does not apply to you. You cannot wait for your country to decide to do the same. You must stop it before it grows, before it becomes acceptable. You must destroy its foundation before it becomes too powerful. Has the U.S. government not learned from the past? Has it not seen the 2011 revolutions? Has it not seen that we oppose this wherever we find it and that we will continue to oppose it? Obviously the United States Government thinks they are exempt. This is not only an Anonymous collective call to action. What will a Distributed Denial of Service attack do? What's a website de face ment against the corrupted powers of the government? No. This is a call for a worldwide internet and physical protest against the powers that be. Spread this message everywhere. We will not stand for this! Tell your parents, your neighbors, your fellow workers, your school teachers, and anyone else you come in contact with. This affects anyone that desires the freedom to browse anonymously, speak freely without fear of retribution, or protest without fear of arrest.
