This is Low Carb Cory. I'm a health/wellness/fitness coach from Stevens Point, Wisconsin. I love to watch and play and basketball, love football (go Packers!), swim and hit the beach in the summer, weight-train 5 days a week plus some high intensity cardio on the side, and write, produce and record my own music. My personal mission to achieve and maintain a body fat % around 8% for the rest of my life and get that lean, muscular, Hollywood-leading-man type physique (think Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Brad Pitt, Taylor Lautner, Cam Gigandet, etc.). I have no desires to be an Olympic Powerlifter and a Pro Bodybuilder. This life, to me, is about looking great, feeling even better, and learning new things every day, not about achieving unnatural and unrealistic muscle proportions. I originally started weigh-training heavily in March of 2009 at 5'10", about 170 lbs, and with a body fat % up over 18%. I was "skinnyfat" (fat and skinny at the same time). Back then I used to think I was "hot stuff" and looking good! HA! Hindsight is always 20/20 and I was very wrong. At that time, I was taking the "conventional advice" most of you are familiar with getting from muscle magazines, so-called health "experts", and the media: "Eat 6 times a day to keep your metabolism high", "make whole grains the foundation of your diet", "burn more calories than you take in (i.e.: Do more cardio and, better yet, make it HIGH INTENSITY CARDIO)", and "lift heavy stuff often". DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE RESULTS WERE? I grew to 197 lbs, 24% body fat (despite doing the entire Insanity DVD program for 60+ days), was constantly crippled by DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness), had terrible skin, horrible mood swings, and joints that were progressively getting more sore and worn out every day. I WAS THE FATTEST, UNHEALTHIEST, MOST FATIGUED, AND MOST DEPRESSED I'D EVER BEEN IN MY LIFE. Going to the gym was a chore, I hated my day job, I became an alcoholic after my marriage of 2 years ended, and my life was falling apart at the seams. SO DO YOU KNOW WHAT I DID ABOUT THIS? By September, 2011, I was fed up. I cut out caffeine. I cut out all grains (anything made of wheat, rye, barley, rice, corn, etc). I cut out dairy. I was leaving no stone unturned. I then adopted the Atkins Diet's Induction Phase (20g or less or carbohydrates a day for 2 weeks) in an attempt to break any unhealthy carb addictions I may have had, which worked. I then decided to get aggressive with fat loss and detoxing my body further and embarked upon a 6-day water fast (drank nothing but water for 6 days). Within a month and a half of starting Atkins Induction, I had dropped from 197 lbs to 165 lbs, a weight I hadn't been since my senior year of high school 10 years earlier! I was still "skinny fat", but that's a 32 lbs loss in a MONTH AND A HALF, people. I was doing very well. In December, 2011, I started this YouTube channel, in the hopes that I could share my weight loss success and health improvements with the world, maybe give some tips to other people who have felt as hopeless, depressed, and frustrated as I have. I had no idea, at that time, at how many people I could inspire....how many people I could help....and how big of a difference I could make in peoples' lives. I have been overwhelmed with the outpouring of support I have received and also with the messages and comments I have gotten from normal, everyday people, like me, who have told me that I've changed their lives in so many ways and, in some cases, SAVED THEIR LIVES. I've helped thousands of people lose fat and keep it off, get off of their medications (which are making them sicker), adopt healthier lifestyles and diets, learn to respect and set higher standards for themselves, and become better, stronger, more well-rounded individuals with every passing day. My tools I use for achieving my fitness/health goals include (but are not limited to): Intermittent Fasting (IF), Carb Cycling, Carb Ups/Carb Refeeds, Periodic Low-Carbing, Weight Training, High Intensity and Moderate Pace Cardio, and the elimination of any and all foods I am intolerant/allergic to. I am on a mission to get RIPPED - to get my bodyfat down to about 8% and get that lean, Hollywood'ish, leading man look that makes women go crazy and makes other men seethe with envy. I started weight-training heavily in March of 2009 at what I now consider to have been quite a fat (20-24% bodyfat) 170 lbs. I had been taking the conventional advice that the health and fitness community gave me (eat 6 small meals a day, get multiple servings of grains, eat fruit, do cardio at the gym and work out 5-6 days a week) and you know what happened? I GOT FATTER. My ego wanted me to believe that I was putting on muscle, but I got a wake-up call when, after growing to 197 lbs (and although being stronger than ever), my belt, which I'd always comfortably worn on the second loop, started getting snug and chafing me on the FIRST LOOP. I was overweight, burned out, sore and tired as a dog. I decided right then and there that I was going to do something about this. I went online and spent countless hours researching and reading opinions, advice columns, weight/fat loss forums and medical research papers...and you know what I found out my problem was? I was eating too many damn carbohydrates, drinking too many damn caffeine and working myself too damn hard. So what turned out to be something I thought was a waste-of-time "fad diet", LOW CARB EATING, actually turned out to be the answer to all of my problems. Dr. Robert Atkins was on to something. Between the end of September, 2011 and the end of November, 2011, I lost 31 lbs, all the way down to my high school weight (165 lbs), using a combination of an Atkins-Diet-style "induction phase" (20g of net carbs a day, no more) and a 6-day water fast (drank nothing but water for 6 days, no food), followed by an Atkins-Diet-style maintenance eating plan that contained less than 40g of net carbs and intermittent fasting (only eating during a 2-4 hour window on any given day, usually after work, between 6:30 and 10:30 PM). I have had so much success with my fat loss weight management that I have decided to share my wisdom, knowledge and experience with you! I love to research and learn new things in my spare time constantly, so I will be giving you great information on healthy eating, fitness, general wellness, supplements, workout tips and a number of other topics as often as possible! Arpaio's team of investigators said they found that the long-form birth certificate was created electronically and never existed in paper form. The president's Selective Service card was also questioned. Arpaio's investigators claimed the document has "failed every test we put it through." At Thursday's news conference, investigators said they will request a criminal investigation. They also said they have identified a person of interest in the forgery of the birth certificate. Arpaio said he is not accusing the president of the crime. He said they will investigate who is behind the "possible forgery and fraud." "I haven't decided where to go with this yet," Arpaio said. The controversy over the certificate has been widely debunked, but it remains alive in the eyes of some conservatives, namely members of the Tea Party who urged Arpaio to look into the matter. 'US wanted Taliban attacks to happen in Kabul'

The Taliban has launched a series of coordinated attacks across the Afghan capital on Sunday, including an assault on the presidential palace, the Afghan Parliament and NATO headquarters. Most of the targets were in the city's diplomatic district, with western embassies and residences under fire. 32 insurgent fighters and two police officers were killed in the violence, while dozens more were injured. The military airport at Jalalabad in the east of the country has also been hit, while violence has been reported in two other provinces. The Taliban says the attacks were retaliation for the actions of US troops, including the burning of the Koran and the recent massacre of 17 Afghan civilians. US soldier kills 16 Afghan civilians

US soldier shoots dead 16 Afghan civilians (9 of them children). Among the dead was a young girl in a green and red dress who had been shot in the forehead. The bodies of other victims appeared partially burned. A villager claimed they had been wrapped in blankets and set on fire by the killer. It is not the first time that US soldiers have intentionally killed Afghan civilians but the toll is unprecedented for a single soldier.

Women, children and elderly men are among the dead. The man left his base in Kandahar province and entered people's homes in the early hours, apparently shooting people at random. One reporter for the AFP news agency said he saw the bodies of ten people in one house alone, adding that they had been burned. Another five people were reportedly wounded. NATO is investigating what it calls the 'deeply regrettable incident'. The soldier is said to have suffered a breakdown before the attack. "All we know so far is that he left the base, he returned to the base after the incident, was taken into custody straightaway and the investigation is ongoing, which will include what was the reasoning and what were the circumstances of his doings," said General Carsten Jacobson, a spokesman for a NATO-led ISAF coalition in Afghanistan.
